Most of the time I don't do complicated backgrounds, that's why I wanted to get out of my comfort zone with Merida, blending her in with the landscape and everything... and that's exactly why this took me so long xDD But I'm very happy with how the painting turned out, so I don't regret the extra time spent at all ^^

In the end her dress ended up being a mix between her two dresses in the film...
